Account activity
Account activity is a record of changes an administrator made to your workspace. It answers two questions: “who changed this?”, and “what did we do just before things started behaving differently?”.
Find it under Settings → Account activity. Admins only, because it names who did what.
What it records
- Team — someone invited, suspended or reactivated, and any change to which mailboxes a person can see.
- Mailboxes — a mailbox added, its settings changed, turned on, turned off, or removed.
- Integrations — a CRM or helpdesk connected or disconnected.
- Settings — changes to your workspace triage settings.
Each entry shows when it happened, who did it, what changed, and which area it was in.
What it does not record
This matters as much as the list above, because a log you think is complete is worse than one you know the edges of.
- Sign-ins and security events on individual accounts. Signing in, turning two-step verification on or off, and password changes are not here. Those are about one person’s account rather than about your workspace, and the person concerned is emailed directly when something security-related happens to them.
- Billing. Your invoices, payments and plan changes live in the billing portal, which is the complete record. See Billing.
- What happened to individual emails. That is a different question with its own screens: use Inbox activity or System logs.
How long entries are kept
12 months, then they are removed automatically. If your workspace is closed and deleted, the activity log is deleted with everything else.
Using it to answer a question
Most questions are of the form “this changed and I do not know who did it”. Filter by the area (Team, Mailboxes, Integrations, Settings), then read down from the day you noticed. If the change is not there, that is meaningful too: it means the change was not one of the kinds listed above, so it was more likely a setting on an individual account, a billing event, or something that happened to a specific email.
