Connect HubSpot

Last updated 13 August 2026

Connect HubSpot and InboxAgent files what it finds straight into your portal: a contact for the sender, a ticket for support inquiries, and a deal for sales inquiries if you allow it.

It works on every HubSpot plan, including Free. There is nothing to upgrade.

Connect it

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations and find the HubSpot card (admins only).
  2. Click Connect, choose your HubSpot account, and approve access.
  3. Back in InboxAgent, the card shows Connected.

Finish the whole flow in one sitting. If you leave it part-way and come back much later, the sign-in window closes for security and you’ll need to click Connect again.

HubSpot will warn you that we’re “unverified” — here’s what that means

During the connection HubSpot shows a red warning saying the app is unverified and could put your data at risk, and asks you to type I accept the risk to continue.

That warning is about our listing status, not about anything HubSpot has found. Every app that isn’t yet published in HubSpot’s public marketplace gets it, however it behaves. InboxAgent is not listed there yet, so the warning appears for everyone who connects.

If you’d rather not accept it, don’t — nothing else in InboxAgent depends on HubSpot.

The permissions it asks for, and what we actually do

HubSpot describes permissions in broad groups. Two of them say delete:

  • Create, delete, or make changes to contacts
  • View, create, delete, or make changes to tickets

InboxAgent never deletes anything in your HubSpot. We only create records and add notes to them. HubSpot has no narrower permission to ask for — there is no create-only option for tickets — so the wording is broader than what we use.

One permission mentions your account details: View properties about the installing account including primary domain and user emails. That’s how we identify which portal we’re connected to.

Deals are optional

The two deal permissions are ticked by default but you can untick them, or choose None under Optional.

  • Deals allowed — a sales inquiry creates a contact and a deal.
  • Deals declined — a sales inquiry creates the contact and skips the deal. Everything else works normally.

Support tickets are unaffected either way.

What InboxAgent creates in HubSpot

  • Support inquiry → a contact for the sender (matched by email, so repeat senders don’t duplicate) and a ticket in your default ticket pipeline.
  • Sales inquiry → a contact, plus a deal if you allowed deals.
  • Follow-up on the same thread → a note on the existing record rather than a new one.

Each record carries the classification InboxAgent made, so you can see why it was filed that way.

If a connection stops working

Reconnect from the same card. Your HubSpot admin can also remove InboxAgent from Settings → Integrations → Connected Apps in HubSpot at any time; if they do, reconnecting from InboxAgent restores it.
