Re-classify an email
InboxAgent filed something wrong? Fix it in ten seconds — and make it smarter at the same time. Re-classify lives in the email’s detail panel on Inbox activity (admins and members).
How to re-classify
- Open the email (click its row in Inbox activity).
- In the Re-classify section, pick the correct category and what should happen — Create a lead, Create a ticket, Send to review, or Ignore.
- Click Apply.
The action runs immediately: choose Create a lead and the CRM lead is created right now — same as if InboxAgent had done it automatically. The email’s category chip updates, and the correction is recorded.
Built-in duplicate protection
If the email already produced a lead or ticket, re-classifying won’t create a second one — you’ll see a note like “A CRM lead already exists for this message; kept it and skipped creating a duplicate.” Records already in your CRM or helpdesk are never deleted or undone by a re-classify; if a record shouldn’t exist, remove it there.
What “Send to review” means here
One honest nuance: choosing Send to review during a re-classify corrects the label only — it does not add the email to the Manual review queue. Use it to fix the record (“this should have been reviewed, not auto-filed”). If you actually want action taken on the email, pick Create a lead / Create a ticket directly — you’re the reviewer at that moment.
Your correction teaches InboxAgent
Re-classifications carry extra learning weight — you actively corrected the record, so InboxAgent treats it as a verified signal. Repeated corrections of the same pattern generate suggested rules; see How InboxAgent learns from you. If the same fix keeps coming up, skip ahead and make it a rule — deterministic beats repeated correcting.
If the action fails
Re-classify runs the real action, so it can hit real problems — e.g. “Zoho CRM is not connected. Connect it under Settings → Integrations, then re-classify again.” Nothing changes until the action succeeds, so it’s always safe to retry after fixing the cause.
