Test the AI
Test the AI (in the Advanced drawer) is a sandbox: paste any email and see how InboxAgent would classify and route it — without touching your live mail. Great for sanity-checking a rule you just built, understanding a surprising call, or demoing the product.
Run a test
- Optionally set From email (so sender labels and sender-based rules apply) and a Mailbox (so per-mailbox overrides apply).
- Paste the Subject and/or Body.
- Click the classify button.
The result shows the category chip, the confidence score, the suggested action, and the AI’s reasoning — the same read a live email would get.
What it exercises — and what it skips
The test runs the real AI, your sender list, and your rules. Two deliberate differences from live processing (the page says so too):
- The pre-AI noise filters don’t run — bulk mail, auto-replies, and internal-domain filtering are skipped, so even a newsletter gets classified here. On live mail those filters would have caught it first (how processing really flows).
- Your routing thresholds and fast-path don’t apply — you see the AI’s suggested action, not the threshold-adjusted final decision. A 70% “create lead” here would go to review on live mail under Balanced.
It never touches your live inbox, mailboxes, or integrations — no leads or tickets are created.
Who can run it
Everyone can open the screen; running a test needs admin or member rights, because each test run uses real AI capacity (viewers see a read-only note).
