Custom alerts

Last updated 3 July 2026

The default alerts cover the common cases. Custom alerts are for anything more specific — one mailbox, one kind of sender, your own wording, your own recipients. Build them on the Custom alerts tab of the Notifications screen (admins only).

Create one

Click Add a custom alert and fill in the builder:

  • Rule Name — for your own list.
  • Event Type — what triggers it: a sales-lead decision, a support-request decision, a needs-review decision, a mailbox disconnection, or an integration failure.
  • Mailbox — all mailboxes, or just one.
  • Delivery channel — Email, In-app (the bell), or Both.
  • Recipients — comma-separated email addresses; custom alerts have their own recipients, independent of the default-alert bar.
  • Subject and Email body — your wording.
  • Min Confidence — only fire when the classification met this bar.
  • Active — the on/off switch.

”Insert a detail”

Put live details from the triggering email into your subject or body: place your cursor where you want it, pick a detail from the Insert a detail menu, and a placeholder is inserted — filled in when the alert sends. Available details: sender email address, sender name, subject, detected category, confidence, the AI’s reasoning summary, a preview of the body, the mailbox, and when it was received.

Example subject: Priority lead: {{subject}}“Priority lead: Quote for 200 units”.

(Note: the “Sender name” detail is derived from the sender’s email address, so jane@acme.com renders as “jane” — use “Sender email address” when you want the full address.)

”Only notify when…” (conditions)

For the three email-triggered events you can add conditions — all must match:

  • Sender is a priority customer / is known / is a customer (your sender labels)
  • Sender domain equals
  • Detected category is …
  • Subject contains … / Body contains

Example: event = new lead, condition = sender is a priority customer, recipients = the sales lead’s address — a VIP-only ping that skips the noise.

Test, edit, pause, delete

Every custom alert card has four buttons: Test sends a sample email to the rule’s recipients right now (using made-up example data) so you can check the wording — the test goes by email only and skips the delivery log. Edit reopens the builder. Disable/Enable pauses without deleting. Delete removes it permanently.
