Fine-tune and the fast-path

Last updated 3 July 2026

Most teams only ever need the three routing modes. The “Fine-tune by confidence” expander below the mode cards is for when you want different bars for different outcomes.

The three sliders

All run from 50% to 100%, and saving applies them together (Save changes):

  • Auto-route any email — the master bar. Below this confidence, every email goes to Manual review regardless of category. This is the number the mode cards set.
  • Auto-create sales lead — the minimum confidence to create a CRM lead automatically.
  • Auto-create support ticket — the minimum confidence to open a helpdesk ticket automatically.

The two per-outcome sliders only bite when set higher than the master bar — use them to make one outcome extra careful, e.g. “route freely at 75%, but only auto-create leads at 90%.” Setting them below the master bar has no additional effect. If your values don’t match a preset, the mode shows as Custom.

The fast-path

The checkbox under the sliders enables the fast-path for senders InboxAgent has learned to trust. Here’s what it really does:

When a sender has a strong track record (their mail has consistently turned out to be sales or support — see How InboxAgent learns), and a new email from them classifies with high confidence, the fast-path creates the lead or ticket directly instead of pausing for review. It’s a “skip the review stop for proven senders” switch.

To be precise about what it is not: the AI still reads and classifies every email — the fast-path doesn’t skip classification; it skips hesitation. It’s off by default; its trust bars are built-in and deliberately high. Turn it on once your corrections have become rare and the review queue is mostly rubber-stamping regulars.
